Kökcü honored by Feyenoord
In the minutes leading up to the friendly match between Feyenoord and Benfica at the De Kuip Stadium, Kökcü was honored by the home team. The Turkish midfielder, who joined the eagles this summer, represented the Dutch team for several years (from youth teams), and was even captain. Feyenoord CEO Dennis te Kloese presented Kökcü with a bouquet of flowers and a picture frame, and the fans presented a giant banner with his name on it. Overcome with emotion, Kökcü addressed the fans and walked around the stadium, thanking them for their affection.
