During his journey through the Club's youth ranks, Tomás Araújo also played for the U17, U19, U23, and the B team, for which he made his debut, still as a junior, on September 19, 2020, in a 6-0 victory over Casa Pia. In the following season (2021/22), the center-back captained the U19 team in their victorious UEFA Youth League campaign.
Tomás Araújo made his debut for Benfica’s first team in the 2021/22 season, playing the full 90 minutes in a 3-0 victory over Covilhã in the League Cup on December 15, 2021.
In 2022/23, the center-back was loaned to Gil Vicente, where he played 26 matches: 22 in the Primeira Liga, two in the League Cup, and two in the Conference League qualification round.
Tomás Araújo also has a background with Portugal’s youth national teams, with international appearances from the U15 to U21 levels.
