Kerem Aktürkoğlu made his way through the lower divisions of Turkey, representing BB Bodrumspor (III Division), on loan from Basaksehir, Karacabey Belediyespor (III Division), and Erzincanspor, where, in 2019/20, he played a key role in the club's promotion to the 2nd Division, with 20 goals in 30 matches.
Even while playing in the lower divisions, Aktürkoğlu earned international caps for Turkey's U-18 and U-19 teams. The turning point in his career came in the summer of 2020, when he was signed by Galatasaray. At the Istanbul club, the winger/forward scored 46 goals and provided over 30 assists in 179 matches, winning two Turkish Championships and one Super Cup.
At the end of his first season at Galatasaray, he earned his first senior international cap for Turkey (on May 27, 2021), and since then, he has been a regular presence in his national team, notably being called up for the European Championships in 2020 and 2024.
Aktürkoğlu made his debut with the Sacred Jersey on the night of September 14, 2024, marking the occasion by scoring the first goal in Benfica's victory over Santa Clara in the 5th round of the Primeira Liga.
