Conservation and restoration

The Storage, Conservation and Restoration Department of Sport Lisboa e Benfica has a team of specialists with vast experience in conservation and restoration. Responsible for the preservation of the Sport Lisboa e Benfica collection, this department currently provides conservation and restoration services to clients and external entities.

The team
The Storage, Conservation and Restoration Department is composed of a team of conservator-restorers, whose activity is characterised by quality and thoroughness. Complying with the ethical and deontological requirements regulating the profession, the conservation interventions are conducted under strict internationally accepted standards and principles.

Service description
The department carries out conservation and restoration interventions in various areas of movable cultural heritage. These interventions focus on diagnostic, conservation and restoration interventions, and packaging of cultural property. It also provides disinfestation using anoxia services.

The interventions are documented in a systematic way and a report and a list of preventive recommendations are issued at the end of each treatment, in order to guarantee the conservation of the cultural object.
