National Championship 1967/68

Three managers and a golden Eusébio
It wasn't an easy win for Benfica. The team tied five matches and suffered three defeats. Still, they were without a doubt the best contender, finishing the Championship four points ahead of Sporting, followed by FC Porto, Académica and V. Setúbal, all teams separated by one point. Three managers shared the title: Chilean Fernando Riera (seven matches), Fernando Cabrita (14 matches), and Brazilian Otto Glória (five matches). Counting 42 goals, Eusébio was not only the competition's best scorer for the fifth consecutive time but also the best scorer of Europe thus conquering his first Golden Shoe.
