National Championship 1963/64

Heavy artillery
With the great performances of Eusébio (28) – best scorer of the competition –, Torres (22), Yaúca (15) and José Augusto (11), Benfica became two-time winner with 103 goals in 26 matches. FC Porto remained in the 2nd position with only 51 scored goals. Benfica’s great capacity to score was almost unreal, its highlight consisting in five consecutive hammerings at home: 7-0 over Leixões, 8-1 over Olhanense, 10-1 against Seixal, 8-0 over Barreirense, and 5-2 against Belenenses. After these results there was no surprise when in July, the “Reds” won the Cup over FC Porto achieving the fourth “double”.
