Following their 0-5 win away from home, Benfica host Tirsense at 8:15 pm on Wednesday, April 23, for the second leg of the Portuguese Cup semi-finals.

In the first leg of the semi-final, Benfica beat Tirsense 0-5
With the 0-5 win at the Estádio Cidade de Barcelos, the home of the Minhotos in this knockout round, the red team will take the final step towards securing a place in the final of the Portuguese Cup, one of the goals set by the eagles for the 2024/25 season.
In the first leg of this semi-final, the team led by Bruno Lage won the match played on April 9, with goals from João Pedro, in his own net (16'), João Rego (26'), Prestianni (67'), Arthur Cabral (72') and Schjelderup (84').
Having won the trophy 26 times, making them the club with the best record in the competition, the Reds are looking to reach the decisive match for the 39th time. Until the semi-final, the eagles had beaten Pevidém (0-2), Estrela da Amadora (7-0), Farense (1-3) and SC Braga (1-0).
All told, the Glorioso have scored 18 goals in this edition of the Portuguese Cup, to which 11 players have contributed - 10 from the club, 1 from Tirsense. The eagles' top scorer is Arthur Cabral, who has netted 4 times, followed by Di María, who scored all 3 of his goals in the same match, against Estrela da Amadora, in the 4th round.
On their way to this stage, Tirsense have beaten Vieira (2-0), Caldas (1-2), Brito SC (1-0), Rebordosa (1-0) and O Elvas (0-2).
In the 4th tier of Portuguese football, the Jesuits finished in 7th place in Serie A of the Campeonato de Portugal with 35 points from 26 matches, thus guaranteeing their stay in the competition.
Counting the most recent encounter between Benfica and Tirsense, for the Portuguese Cup, the teams have met 7 times. The Glorioso have won every time, scoring 25 goals and conceding just two against a rival that has competed at the top level of national football eight times.
