Benfica players scored in the 3-1 win over Hungary in the first leg of the Nations League A play-off.
20 March 2025, 22h30
Aktürkoğlu and Kökcü
Selected by coach Vincenzo Montella for the starting eleven (he was replaced in the 72nd minute by Ismail), Kökcü opened the scoring in the 9th minute with a well-placed shot from outside the area. A great goal from Benfica's number 10!
In the 41st minute, after Hungary had equalized (1-1), the midfielder was shown a yellow card that rules him out of the second leg, scheduled for Sunday, March 23, in Budapest.
Aktürkoğlu who was also chosen as a starter (he was replaced in the 85th minute by Can Uzun), scored the goal that put Turkey back in front: in the 69th minute, he came up well in the box and pushed the ball into the back of the net with his shoulder.
Three minutes later (72'), the Benfica forward was once again in the spotlight, assisting Irfan Can Kahveci with a brilliant chest pass to make it 3-1.
At the Georgios Karaiskakis Stadium in Piraeus, Pavlidis came off the bench in the 72nd minute of Greece's 0-1 home win over Scotland in the first leg of the A-League play-off. The Greek side return to the field on Sunday, March 23, for the second leg in Glasgow.
Trubin was an unused substitute in Ukraine's 3-1 win over Belgium in Murcia (Spain) in the first leg of the League A play-off. António Silva had a similar status in Portugal's 1-0 defeat against Denmark in Copenhagen in the first leg of the Nations League quarter-finals
Ukraine and Portugal return to the field on Sunday, March 23, for their respective return matches.
