Belotti as joined Sport Lisboa e Benfica! The official signing of his contract with the eagles until the end of this season, on loan from Como 1907, took place late Monday afternoon, February 3. Determination, joy and dreams... that's the motto!

In his first statements to BTV as a player for the club, the 31-year-old Italian international was happy and, despite his experience and maturity, sees this new step as an important challenge in his career.

"I'm looking forward to a great end to the season. There are lots of games, trophies to bring home. I hope to have a great year, one that I'll look back on in the best possible way one day," he wished.

Benfica want to win everything and play attacking football. Could this benefit your attributes?

Absolutely. Benfica are a team that attack a lot. And that could make it easier for me to be in a position to score goals. Benfica is a club that wants to win everything and goes into every game looking to win. That's why the decision to come here was the right one for me.

Has your experience prepared you to represent a giant like Benfica?

Yes, I've had experience in the national team and at big clubs, and that's made me grow. I can say that I'm ready to contribute to a club as important as Benfica.

Yes, I can't wait. I've already played here, a while ago, in a friendly. But being able to play at home with these fans on my side will be a much bigger thrill.
