The 30-year-old forward Bruma has joined Sport Lisboa e Benfica's professional football team. The Portuguese international moved to the Glorioso from SC Braga, signing a contract valid until 2028.

Made official this Monday, February 3, as a Sport Lisboa e Benfica new signing, Bruma, the eagles' new No. 27, revealed that he can't wait to make his debut in the Manto Sagrado. In his first statements as a Glorioso player, in an exclusive interview with the club's official television channel, the 30-year-old Portuguese international expressed his desire to “give the fans a lot of joy”.

"I'm very happy to be here and to represent this great club. I think it's good timing to get here. I want to keep working and bring a lot of joy to the fans and members. I'm really looking forward to starting work," he said to BTV.

THE CAREER

In the 2012/13 season, at just 18 years old, Bruma made his first appearance in a Portuguese league match. His debut came on February 10, 2013, with Sporting, the club where he graduated. At the end of that season, he moved to Galatasaray. In his first 2 seasons in Turkish football (2013/14 and 2014/15), the forward scored 4 goals in 48 games and won his first senior titles: 1 Championship and 2 Turkish Cups.

In 2015/16 he represented Real Sociedad (on loan), where he scored 3 goals in 33 games. The following season, 2016/17, he returned to Istanbul to play a leading role for Galatasaray. Playing in 37 matches, Bruma scored 11 goals and made 9 assists, helping the club win the Turkish Super Cup.

His good performances in Turkey caught the eye of Leipzig, who signed him in the summer of 2017. At the German club, the Portuguese international played 67 games over 2 seasons (2017/19 and 2018/19), where he scored 10 goals and made 5 assists.

His time in German football came to an end in the summer of 2019, when Bruma moved to PSV. In Eindhoven, the 2019/20 season ended with 5 goals and 3 assists in 31 games. The forward still played 4 games the following season for the Dutch side (2020/21), and then moved to Olympiacos (on loan) in October 2020. During his time in Greece, he scored 9 goals in 33 games and helped the Piraeus club become two-time national champions.

On his return to PSV, he scored 10 goals and provided 4 assists, helping them win the Dutch Cup in 2021/22. In the summer of 2022, Bruma returned to Turkish football, this time to represent Fenerbahçe. He later moved to SC Braga (on loan). After 4 goals and 6 assists in the 2022/23 season, Bruma was signed permanently by the Arsenalistas.
