HIGHLIGHTS

Benfica finished matchday 13 of the Liga Betclic with the best defense among the teams in the competition - only seven goals conceded - after another solid display in the 1-0 win against Vitória SC on Saturday, December 7, at the Estádio da Luz.

This status as the best defense in the league came after the 12th game in the competition - Benfica have one less game due to the postponement of the clash with Nacional to December 19 - but it is based on the consolidation of defensive processes since Bruno Lage returned to coach the eagles and his first official commitment was the home clash against Santa Clara on Matchday 5.

From then on, in eight matches, Benfica scored four clean sheets, specifically against Boavista (0-3), Rio Ave (5-0), Arouca (0-2) e Vitória SC (1-0).

In this sequence of (eight) league matches under Bruno Lage's technical leadership, the Reds have conceded only four goals: three of them came in the victories at the Estádio da Luz - Santa Clara (4-1), Gil Vicente (5-1) and  FC Porto (4-1) –, and one occurred away from home, specifically against Farense (1-2).
