Otamendi, captain of Benfica's professional football team, led Argentina's defense in a 1-0 win over Peru in a match played in the early hours of Wednesday, November 20, at the Alberto Jacinto Armando Stadium, known as La Bombonera, in Buenos Aires, as part of the round 12 of CONMEBOL qualifying for the 2026 World Cup.

A starter in the center of defense for the world champions, paired with Leonardo Balerdi, Otamendi played the full 90 minutes, helping Argentina return to winning ways - they had lost 2-1 in Paraguay on Thursday, November 14. The Albiceleste lead the qualifying phase with 25 points, five more than Uruguay.

In front of almost 50,000 spectators at the Estádio da Luz, Benfica confirmed their qualification for the 2024/2025 Portuguese Cup final on Wednesday night, April 23, by beating Tirsense 4-0 in the second leg of the semi-final (goals from António Silva, Bajrami, Belotti and Barreiro). A moving tribute to Humberto Coelho

Having celebrated his 75th birthday on Sunday, April 20, Humberto Coelho received a heartfelt and well-deserved tribute on Wednesday, April 23, at the Estádio da Luz, during half-time of the Benfica-Tirsense (4-0) second leg of the Portuguese Cup semi-finals. Captain for many years, he wore the Manto Sagrado for “14 fantastic seasons” and, on the pitch, he gave a special thanks to the fans. "This is more than soul, it's an extraordinary mystique! Only at Benfica can you feel this recognition and this glory and memory of having played for the best club in the world," said the former central defender.
