Trubin, Kökcü and Aktürkoğlu, players from Benfica's professional football team, were in action this Saturday, November 16, for their respective national teams, in matches valid for the Nations League.

Trubin was chosen to defend Ukraine's goal in the 1-1 draw against Georgia. With this result, the Benfica goalkeeper's side now have five points from as many games and will end their participation in Group B1 next Tuesday, November 19, against Bajrami's Albania who was not used on Saturday, November 16's game against Czechia (0-0).

Aktürkoğlu

Starters for Turkey, Aktürkoğlu and Kökcu, played the full 90 minutes of the 0-0 home draw against Wales on matchday 5 of Group B4. The Benfica forward had a great chance to open the scoring in the 89th minute, but hit the post from the penalty spot.

Leaders of their group, the Turkish side go into the final matchday, which includes a visit to Montenegro next Tuesday, November 19, two points ahead of the Welsh and with direct promotion to the League A at their mercy.

Benfica-Tirsense: extended match highlights (4-0)

In front of almost 50,000 spectators at the Estádio da Luz, Benfica confirmed their qualification for the 2024/2025 Portuguese Cup final on Wednesday night, April 23, by beating Tirsense 4-0 in the second leg of the semi-final (goals from António Silva, Bajrami, Belotti and Barreiro). In the first game, the Eagles had won 0-5. Thus, with a 9-0 aggregate in the semi-final, the Glorioso reached the decisive match of the Portuguese Cup for the 39th time. On their way to Jamor, the Reds overcame Pevidém (0-2), Estrela da Amadora (7-0), Farense (1-3), SC Braga (1-0) and, finally, Tirsense in a two-legged tie.

A moving tribute to Humberto Coelho

Having celebrated his 75th birthday on Sunday, April 20, Humberto Coelho received a heartfelt and well-deserved tribute on Wednesday, April 23, at the Estádio da Luz, during half-time of the Benfica-Tirsense (4-0) second leg of the Portuguese Cup semi-finals. Captain for many years, he wore the Manto Sagrado for “14 fantastic seasons” and, on the pitch, he gave a special thanks to the fans. "This is more than soul, it's an extraordinary mystique! Only at Benfica can you feel this recognition and this glory and memory of having played for the best club in the world," said the former central defender.
