Pavilidis, striker of Benfica, received the award for Top Scorer in the 2023/24 edition of the Dutch league on Monday, September 2, at the Eredivisie Awards ceremony in Utrecht.

With 29 goals for AZ Alkmaar, the current Benfica number 14 was the top scorer in the Dutch league last season, on a par with PSV's Luuk de Jong. As a result, both players were awarded the Willy van der Kuijlen Trophy, which is handed out annually to the top scorer in the competition.

Speaking at the ceremony, the Greek international said that “it's very nice, after a wonderful season, to make a good transfer to such a big club” like Benfica.

“Whenever you go to a new team, it's a bit different and you need some time to adapt, but I can say that my colleagues there help me a lot,” he also revealed.

Pavlidis was also nominated for Eredivisie 2023/24 Player of the Year.
