Benfica's B team is back in the Premier League International Cup, and already knows the schedule for the group stage of the 2024/25 edition.

The Eagles, in group B, will face Blackburn Rovers, Middlesbrough, Sunderland and West Ham United, in what is the club's eighth participation in the prestigious international youth football tournament.

Twelve English teams and 12 clubs from other European countries are taking part in the competition, divided into three groups of eight teams. In this phase, each European team faces only English opponents and vice versa, with all matches taking place in England.

The top two teams in each group, as well as the two third-placed teams with the best scores, will advance to the quarter-finals. The knockout stage is decided in a single match, with extra time and a penalty shoot-out if necessary.

Teams will be made up of U23 players, except for a maximum of three outfield players and a goalkeeper.

Looking back at previous editions, Benfica faced Sunderland in 2016/17, West Ham United in the 2017/18 season and Blackburn Rovers in 2019/20.
