The team that has won the League Cup the most times (in the four previous editions, the eagles triumphed in 2019/20, 2020/21 and 2022/23), Benfica's women's football team added another trophy in this competition and extended its dominance by beating Sporting at Estádio do Restelo (1-0) on Wednesday, May 1st.

A goal from Chandra Davidson, who had just come on in the second half, set off the celebrations for the Inspiradoras, who are aiming to end the season with a haul of domestic trophies, having already lifted the Super Cup, top the Liga BPI and are in the Portuguese Cup final.

In the top spot of the Liga BPI, Benfica will compete again on Sunday, May 5. At 11am, at the Valadares Sports Complex, the stage where they won the third national title in a row in 2022/23, the eagles face Valadares Gaia on matchday 21 of the competition.
