Sport Lisboa e Benfica informs that it has been sanctioned by UEFA with a ban on the sale of tickets to its fans for the next European match to be held away from home, with the application of this penalty suspended for a period of two years.

UEFA's decision is based on the setting off of flares and the throwing of objects during the recent Europa League match in Toulouse. The decision also implies the immediate payment of a fine of 28,000 euros.

In light of UEFA's decision, Sport Lisboa e Benfica reiterates its appeal to its fans to comply with the regulations and refrain from practices that damage the Club's image and deprive the team of support that has always been decisive and fundamental for our players. Once again, a clear appeal to all fans: support the team, defend the Club.

Benfica-Tirsense: extended match highlights (4-0)

In front of almost 50,000 spectators at the Estádio da Luz, Benfica confirmed their qualification for the 2024/2025 Portuguese Cup final on Wednesday night, April 23, by beating Tirsense 4-0 in the second leg of the semi-final (goals from António Silva, Bajrami, Belotti and Barreiro). In the first game, the Eagles had won 0-5. Thus, with a 9-0 aggregate in the semi-final, the Glorioso reached the decisive match of the Portuguese Cup for the 39th time. On their way to Jamor, the Reds overcame Pevidém (0-2), Estrela da Amadora (7-0), Farense (1-3), SC Braga (1-0) and, finally, Tirsense in a two-legged tie.

A moving tribute to Humberto Coelho

Having celebrated his 75th birthday on Sunday, April 20, Humberto Coelho received a heartfelt and well-deserved tribute on Wednesday, April 23, at the Estádio da Luz, during half-time of the Benfica-Tirsense (4-0) second leg of the Portuguese Cup semi-finals. Captain for many years, he wore the Manto Sagrado for “14 fantastic seasons” and, on the pitch, he gave a special thanks to the fans. "This is more than soul, it's an extraordinary mystique! Only at Benfica can you feel this recognition and this glory and memory of having played for the best club in the world," said the former central defender.
