Nuno Félix, a Benfica B midfielder, received the award Best Young Player of January in Liga 2, succeeding Pedro Santos.

In a vote promoted by the Players' Union, the No. 60 picked up 16.17% of the votes, ahead of Lénio Neves (12.28%), from Länk Vilaverdense, and Costinha (10.81%), from Paços de Ferreira.

The 19-year-old center-back told BTV that the award reflects "the good work" done, and that the goal is to "continue" it "in the coming months".

Amassing all the minutes in the Eagles' four matches in the competition in the first month of 2024, against Belenenses (W 2-1), FC Porto B (W 0-3), CD Mafra (W 1-2) and UD Leiria (L 0-1), Nuno Félix scored a goal against CD Mafra.

"I won the prize, the Pedro Santos had also won. We're doing a good job and I hope we can keep it up. We're a united team and a good family," he said, feeling that playing against "older players with I Liga experience" allows us to grow. "We like to evolve in the face of these difficulties. It's a good stage for young players to learn", claimed the midfielder.

Benfica-Tirsense: extended match highlights (4-0)

In front of almost 50,000 spectators at the Estádio da Luz, Benfica confirmed their qualification for the 2024/2025 Portuguese Cup final on Wednesday night, April 23, by beating Tirsense 4-0 in the second leg of the semi-final (goals from António Silva, Bajrami, Belotti and Barreiro). A moving tribute to Humberto Coelho

Having celebrated his 75th birthday on Sunday, April 20, Humberto Coelho received a heartfelt and well-deserved tribute on Wednesday, April 23, at the Estádio da Luz, during half-time of the Benfica-Tirsense (4-0) second leg of the Portuguese Cup semi-finals. Captain for many years, he wore the Manto Sagrado for “14 fantastic seasons” and, on the pitch, he gave a special thanks to the fans. "This is more than soul, it's an extraordinary mystique! Only at Benfica can you feel this recognition and this glory and memory of having played for the best club in the world," said the former central defender.
