Elected Best Young Playerin Liga 2 in December, a distinction awarded by the Players' Union, Benfica B striker Pedro Santos received his award at the Benfica Campus.

"It's always special to receive an award like this, it shows that our work is being done well. But, of course, I can't fail to mention the work of the team, because without them this wouldn't be possible, and it's with them that I take this award," said Pedro Santos to BTV.

"Individual awards always give you extra motivation. I feel confident, and so does the team," said the young footballer (20 years old).

In a vote promoted by the Players' Union, Pedro Santos received 18.96% of the votes, beating Vasco Sousa (FC Porto B), who received 11.63% of the votes, and teammate Nuno Félix, with 11.24% of the votes.

Benfica-Tirsense: extended match highlights (4-0)

In front of almost 50,000 spectators at the Estádio da Luz, Benfica confirmed their qualification for the 2024/2025 Portuguese Cup final on Wednesday night, April 23, by beating Tirsense 4-0 in the second leg of the semi-final (goals from António Silva, Bajrami, Belotti and Barreiro). In the first game, the Eagles had won 0-5. Thus, with a 9-0 aggregate in the semi-final, the Glorioso reached the decisive match of the Portuguese Cup for the 39th time. On their way to Jamor, the Reds overcame Pevidém (0-2), Estrela da Amadora (7-0), Farense (1-3), SC Braga (1-0) and, finally, Tirsense in a two-legged tie.

A moving tribute to Humberto Coelho

Having celebrated his 75th birthday on Sunday, April 20, Humberto Coelho received a heartfelt and well-deserved tribute on Wednesday, April 23, at the Estádio da Luz, during half-time of the Benfica-Tirsense (4-0) second leg of the Portuguese Cup semi-finals. Captain for many years, he wore the Manto Sagrado for “14 fantastic seasons” and, on the pitch, he gave a special thanks to the fans. "This is more than soul, it's an extraordinary mystique! Only at Benfica can you feel this recognition and this glory and memory of having played for the best club in the world," said the former central defender.
