Three Benfica players have earned a place in the national futsal squad for the matches against Finland and Georgia this December, on matchdays 5 and 6 of the Elite Round of the 2024 World Cup.

Afonso Jesus, Bruno Coelho and Lúcio Rocha (debut!) are the Benfica players chosen by the national coach to wear the Portugal jersey in the final two matches of this qualifying phase.

The clash with the Finns is scheduled for December 15 (7:30 pm) at the Pavilhão Municipal Multidesportos Mário Mexia in Coimbra. Then, on December 20 (2 pm in mainland Portugal), the Portuguese national team will play the Georgians in Tbilisi, to close out the qualifying campaign.

Portugal, leaders of Group E in this Elite Round (with 12 points, five more than Georgia), needs a win to confirm its place in the final phase of the 2024 World Cup, which will be held in Uzbekistan.
