Benfica made its debut in the 2023/24 edition of the League Cup with a win over Arouca. Away from home, on matchday 2 of Group B of the 3rd stage of the competition, Di María and Arthur Cabral scored the goals from the victory.

"Every game is difficult, and today [Tuesday] was another tough game where it was important to win again. We're Benfica, we know we can win every game and we go into every game to do so. Unfortunately, we didn't manage it at times. It was important to win away from home to regain confidence and get back to winning ways", explained Arthur Cabral.

After a short sequence of less positive results, Benfica did the most important thing: they returned to winning ways...

"It's not easy... we also feel it when the results aren't good. We work hard every day, knowing our potential and that we're a great team. If anyone can turn things around, it's us. We've been working hard to get back to winning ways", concluded Arthur Cabral, who scored one goal from two shots on target and had a 100 percent pass accuracy, seven out of seven, according to data from the Sofascore platform.
