Portugal-Grécia

Samuel Soares and Tomás Araújo

Samuel Soares and Tomás Araújo, players in Sport Lisboa e Benfica's senior squad, were starters in the Portugal U-21 team's 2-0 win over Greece on matchday 4 of Group G qualifying for the 2025 European Championship, played on Tuesday, October 17, at the Estádio D. Afonso Henriques in Guimarães.

The two Benfica players were on the pitch the full 90 minutes and helped Rui Jorge's men maintain their winning record in this qualifying round, in which Portugal have won four of their Group G matches.

Rafael Rodrigues, one of the players with a connection to the club - he's part of the Benfica B squad - also started and was substituted at half-time, while Hugo Félix didn't come off the bench.

Paulo Bernardo and Henrique Araújo, players on loan from Celtic and Famalicão respectively, were options for the Portuguese coach. The midfielder played 90 minutes and the forward came on in the 78th minute.
