Musa
Musa, 50 games with Sport Lisboa e Benfica bringing quality and hunger for goal. What does it mean to reach this mark?
That’s a good number... 50 games. From the first game until now it is always the same goal: to be successful with the team in all competitions, to make our fans proud and happy, and to win the trophies.
Your debut came in that 3-0, home win against Dynamo Kyiv, that secured qualification for the Champions League group stage. What do you remember from that first game at Estádio da Luz?
It was amazing, especially at home. I made my debut in front of our fans and, yes, it was also a special game because we qualified for the Champions League. In the end, we won and I was very happy and excited about that game.
Interestingly, this game 50 was also for the Champions League, this time against Inter Milan. How was it to live this moment, despite the result?
Yes, of course it’s different because this game 50 was in a Champions League group stage match. We are disappointed with the result, but we still have many games ahead.
At the moment, you have four goals in nine games and, in most of them, you did not even need much time to score. In fact, this season, you did it with less than a minute in the field. How do you do this?
I always want to help the team, either I’m on the bench or starting. I always want to help the team and in the end, if I score a goal, I’m happy and if we win, I'm happy too. I think I’m doing a good job, so I want to keep going.
How do you see this journey at Sport Lisboa e Benfica?
I’m happy. It wasn’t easy, it took some time to adapt to the team, but I’m very happy right now. I’m evolving a lot and I enjoy every day here.
What are the expectations for the match against Estoril?
For us, the goal is simple: we want to win every game. So for us, it’s obvious that we want to win and bring the three points home.
