He's only 19, but he filled the pitch and was important in Benfica's 1-0 win over FC Porto in the clássico from matchday 7 of the Liga Betclic. João Neves was voted Man of the Match and thanked the fans for the "fantastic atmosphere" and unconditional support.

"I want to thank our fans, what a fantastic atmosphere! With them, the game was easier, it's true. It was a very well contested game, two teams with quality, but we came out on top", explained João Neves in the flash interview.

Regarding his performance on the pitch, the young Portuguese international highlighted the team as a whole and pointed to his work.

"A clássico is always good to play in, and I've already said that with the support of the fans, it's easier. I'm here to do my job, and I'll keep doing it", stressed João Neves, who had a pass accuracy of 91% (68/75).

"To win the league, we have to win every game until then. Today is no exception and we'll try to win every game," he concluded.
