The benfiquista Christy Ucheibe will be present in the last 16 of the World Cup, after  Nigeria's draw against the Republic of Ireland (0-0) and secured 2nd place in Group B of the competition on the final matchday of this stage. The midfielder started and played 90 minutes in the match played on Monday, July 31, in Brisbane.

Nigeria will now face the winner of Group D in the last 16, which at the start of the final round is led by England with six points from two games. The clash will be played on Monday, August 7 at 8:30 am.
