In the semi-final of the 1st qualifying round, the three-time national champions will face the Northern Irish Cliftonville Ladies, in a match scheduled for September 6.
If they win, Benfica will face the winner of BIIK Shymkent (Kazakhstan)-SFK Riga (Latvia) in another single game, scheduled for September 9.
The winner will move on to the 2nd qualifying round, which will then be played two-handed. The losing teams in the semifinals will also face each other to determine the 3rd place.
It should be noted that the 1st qualifying round of the women's Champions League is one of two before the 16-team group stage, which begins in November. This phase is divided into two paths: the Champions Path and the League Path. In both, the 1st qualifying round will consist of two stages, each with a single game: semi-finals (September 6) and finals/third place match (September 9).
The winners of each final (11 in the Champions Path, four in the League Path) advance to the 2nd qualifying round, whose games are scheduled for October (10th and 11th the 1st leg and the 2nd leg on the 18th or 19th).
