Jonas: "Benfica always dealt well with pressure"

Forward who left mark at Benfica, Jonas keeps following the reds from Brazil. In interview to BTV, to the program Aquecimento (warm-up), the "Pistolas" showed total belief in the conquer of the 38th national title. 

On the eve of the game at Gil Vicente, in matchday 30 of the Liga Bwin, Jonas recognized that the team led by Roger Schmidt has been doing a great season, and deserves the 1^st place.  

"Benfica always dealt well with pressure. There are just a few games left and 4 points is a good advantage", said Jonas, reminding that, in the past, lived similar moments with the red jersey. "We always handled it. We were doing our part and depended on us. Today, the picture is very similar. Therefore, Benfica have total conditions to win the necessary points to be champions", he declared.

Recalling the past at Benfica, Jonas remembered that it was important to enter the pitch with a "very good intensity", in order to succeed, what should be repeated right now, against Gil Vicente. "Benfica have been doing a tremendous season. Benfica are good, have been performing well, with consistence. We have a firm belief that it is going to end well, with the title. I’m another benfiquista wishing to win the League again", said the former player, who completed 182 official games with the Sacred Mantle, with 137 goals scored.

Knowing the fans’ passion, Jonas also considered that the Benfiquistas’ support is determinant. "Specially, when arriving at the stadiums, we felt the red wave, just like during the games. The fans’ vibration was transported to us when we were on the bus. I hope this year to be like that, to have the fans’ support since the arrival, to the warm-up and the 90 minutes. The power of the fans is important to get victories. We have to believe with calmness, that we are going to score", remembered Jonas, who celebrated nine titles at Luz: four National Championships, a Portuguese Cup, two League Cups and two Super Cups.
