Chiquinho: "We want to continue the good path done"

One of the players in Benfica's starting XI against Estrela da Amadora, which the Reds won (2-3), Chiquinho contributed to the three points on matchday 1 of group C of the League Cup. 

"It was another important victory. We had control of the match and created enough chances to wrap up the game early. That didn't happen, we ended up conceding the 2-3 and the game became dangerous, but we were in control and played a good match", said the number 22.

"It's a goal, but without a doubt the most important thing is the team. We want to continue the good path done so far. We want to win, we did it, and that is the most important thing", he mentioned.

The willingness and ambition to help the Reds win the League Cup are total.

"It's a competition we want to win, like all the others we play", said Chiquinho.

The numbers of Benfica's campaign in 2022/23 (26 official matches, 23 wins and three draws in all competitions) deserve a comment.

"Our focus is game by game, and we are already thinking about the next one, against Penafiel. We will work hard during the week to get another win", stressed Chiquinho, pointing to next Saturday's clash, November 26, at Estádio da Luz (8:45 pm), also for the League Cup.
