Sport Lisboa e Benfica informs that it has reached an agreement with Grupo Desportivo de Chaves for the loan loan, until the end of the 2022/23 season, of the athlete Sandro Cruz.

The defender has completed eight seasons with an eagle on his chest, during which time he became a national champion in U-15 (2015/16), U-17 (2017/18) and U-19 (2017/18).

In the last two seasons he integrated the B Team and totaled 36 matches in the Liga Portugal SABSEEG.

Sandro Cruz made his debut for SL Benfica's first team on April 30, 2022, in the 1-0 victory against CS Marítimo..

In front of almost 50,000 spectators at the Estádio da Luz, Benfica confirmed their qualification for the 2024/2025 Portuguese Cup final on Wednesday night, April 23, by beating Tirsense 4-0 in the second leg of the semi-final (goals from António Silva, Bajrami, Belotti and Barreiro). Having celebrated his 75th birthday on Sunday, April 20, Humberto Coelho received a heartfelt and well-deserved tribute on Wednesday, April 23, at the Estádio da Luz, during half-time of the Benfica-Tirsense (4-0) second leg of the Portuguese Cup semi-finals. Captain for many years, he wore the Manto Sagrado for “14 fantastic seasons” and, on the pitch, he gave a special thanks to the fans. "This is more than soul, it's an extraordinary mystique! Only at Benfica can you feel this recognition and this glory and memory of having played for the best club in the world," said the former central defender.
