Paulo Bernardo, Cher Ndour, Diego Moreira and Henrique Araújo are the four Benfica players who are among the 100 nominees for the Golden Boy 2022 award, given by the Italian newspaper "Tuttosport". 

Benfica has already nurtured two Golden Boy award winners, namely João Félix (2019) and Renato Sanches (2016). The last winner, in 2021, was Pedri (Barcelona), who joined a list with names such as Haaland (2020), Mbappé (2017), Sterling (2014), Messi (2005) or Rooney (2004).

It must be said that in this batch of nominees are, besides Benfica's Paulo Bernardo, Cher Ndour, Diego Moreira and Henrique Araújo, the Portuguese players: Rodrigo Ribeiro (Sporting), Tiago Tomás (Stuttgart), Muno Mendes, (Paris Saint-Germain), Joelson (Basel), Fábio Silva (Wolverhampton), Fábio Carvalho (Liverpool) and Francisco Conceição (FC Porto).
