Commemoration of the 60th anniversary of the two-time European Championship. On display until May 31.
02 May 2022, 15h02
Benfica Museum – Cosme Damião
In the year that marks the 60th anniversary of the 1961/62 European Champion Clubs' Cup, the Cultural Heritage Department of Sport Lisboa e Benfica has conceived an exhibition that illustrates the participation and the conquest of the 1960/61 and 1961/62 European Champion Clubs' Cups.
The exhibition, open from May 2 to May 31, is composed of 12 points, distributed along the route of the Stadium and Museum tour.
The first 11 points will focus, using infographics, on the road to the two achievements:
6 points, at the Stadium, about the ECCC 1960/61: Hearts; Újpest; Aarhus; Rapid Wien; Barcelona + European champions 1960/61;
5 points, at the Museum, about the ECCC 1961/62: Austria Wien; Nuremberg;
Tottenham; Real Madrid + European champions 1961/62.
Point 12, located on level 2 of the Museum, will feature an exhibition of pieces from Sport Lisboa e Benfica's collection and will address the dimension of achievements, in three aspects:
The trophies: campaigns among members to acquire the replicas;
The figures: the iconic (two-time) European champion players;
The social dimension: impact of the achievement on the various areas of society.
The opening hours are the same as for visits to the Sport Lisboa e Benfica Stadium and the Benfica Museum – Cosme Damião, from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm. Admission is included in the purchase of the combined ticket Stadium + Museum tour.
Additionally, all fans who purchase this combine tour tickets ticket, in any of the sales channels (internal or external), and make the tour until May 31, will have an exclusive offer of 5 collectible postcards allusive to the achievements portrayed in the exhibition.
