Haris Seferovic was on the pitch during 82 minutes in Switzerland-Spain match, for the quarter-finals of the European Championship, that led to the Swiss elimination from the competition. The draw in the regulation time (1-1) persisted during the 30 minutes of extratime and the first semi-finalist of the competition was found after a penalty shootout (1-3).

 

Even tough the number 9 failed to target Unai Simón's goal, his pass accuracy reached 64% and he touched the ball 16 times, according to Sofascore. The tightness of the opposing marking was reflected in the duels won by Seferovic, both on the ground  (1 out of 3), and on the air (1 out of 4).

Benfica-Tirsense: extended match highlights (4-0)

In front of almost 50,000 spectators at the Estádio da Luz, Benfica confirmed their qualification for the 2024/2025 Portuguese Cup final on Wednesday night, April 23, by beating Tirsense 4-0 in the second leg of the semi-final (goals from António Silva, Bajrami, Belotti and Barreiro). In the first game, the Eagles had won 0-5. Thus, with a 9-0 aggregate in the semi-final, the Glorioso reached the decisive match of the Portuguese Cup for the 39th time. On their way to Jamor, the Reds overcame Pevidém (0-2), Estrela da Amadora (7-0), Farense (1-3), SC Braga (1-0) and, finally, Tirsense in a two-legged tie.

A moving tribute to Humberto Coelho

Having celebrated his 75th birthday on Sunday, April 20, Humberto Coelho received a heartfelt and well-deserved tribute on Wednesday, April 23, at the Estádio da Luz, during half-time of the Benfica-Tirsense (4-0) second leg of the Portuguese Cup semi-finals. Captain for many years, he wore the Manto Sagrado for “14 fantastic seasons” and, on the pitch, he gave a special thanks to the fans. "This is more than soul, it's an extraordinary mystique! Only at Benfica can you feel this recognition and this glory and memory of having played for the best club in the world," said the former central defender.
