Sport Lisboa e Benfica informs that it has secured the signing of the Pablo Natan, 23, for its men's volleyball team. The athlete plays in the zone 4 position and has already represented the Brazilian Under-21 national team in his career.

Sada Cruzeiro, one of the most prestigious clubs in Brazil, was Pablo Natan's first club as a volleyball professional. Next came spells at Lavras Vôlei and América Vôlei/Montes Claros, and next season he move to the French team of Tours VB.

The volleyball player arrives to represent the two-time national champion and expectations couldn't be better. "It is, without a doubt, a great challenge to be in such a well-known and traditional team in the country and also internationally. It is a golden opportunity to work in a club of excellence where I am sure I will evolve a lot and continue to write a beautiful story together with the Club", he claimed.

Benfica-Tirsense: extended match highlights (4-0)

In front of almost 50,000 spectators at the Estádio da Luz, Benfica confirmed their qualification for the 2024/2025 Portuguese Cup final on Wednesday night, April 23, by beating Tirsense 4-0 in the second leg of the semi-final (goals from António Silva, Bajrami, Belotti and Barreiro). In the first game, the Eagles had won 0-5. Thus, with a 9-0 aggregate in the semi-final, the Glorioso reached the decisive match of the Portuguese Cup for the 39th time. On their way to Jamor, the Reds overcame Pevidém (0-2), Estrela da Amadora (7-0), Farense (1-3), SC Braga (1-0) and, finally, Tirsense in a two-legged tie.

A moving tribute to Humberto Coelho

Having celebrated his 75th birthday on Sunday, April 20, Humberto Coelho received a heartfelt and well-deserved tribute on Wednesday, April 23, at the Estádio da Luz, during half-time of the Benfica-Tirsense (4-0) second leg of the Portuguese Cup semi-finals. Captain for many years, he wore the Manto Sagrado for “14 fantastic seasons” and, on the pitch, he gave a special thanks to the fans. "This is more than soul, it's an extraordinary mystique! Only at Benfica can you feel this recognition and this glory and memory of having played for the best club in the world," said the former central defender.
