National Champions visit Youth teams

The women's football team of Benfica visit the players from the Youth teams, this Monday, May 24, at the Campo Sintético do Complexo Desportivo do Estádio da Luz.

Day before the title match, against Sporting, Benfica's youth teams surprised the women's football team with a visit. With the end of the Liga BPI, the already national champions gave back the gesture to the younger ones. They shared training moments, took pictures with the Cup and left their thank. 

With the investment in the development of young athletes growing, Francisca Nazareth recognized the step the Club is taking in the evolution of women's football.

"Before we are where we are, we went through this and this age. We were not as lucky as they are, because they can be at a club like this at such a young age, but this just shows the evolution that women's football is going through. It is great to know, especially, the quality that these girls with ten and eleven years old already have", claimed the young footballer.

Com um ano glorioso e histórico para a equipa feminina de futebol do Benfica como foi 2020/21, acentua-se, segundo Francisca Nazareth, o caminho para as mais novas poderem atingir e mostrar o seu potencial.

"É um grande apoio saber que os mais novos nos conhecem, que sabem quem somos e que tentamos fazer isto e evoluir para que consigam, no futuro, estar onde merecem", concluiu.
