The Benfica coach analyzed the clássico against FC Porto for the 2020 Super Cup final.
24 December 2020, 00h48
"It is an final, a decision. We lost the decision to FC Porto. In my opinion, the two halves of the match were balanced and the difference was in the goals, which is what counts. The penalty brought calm to FC Porto. In the second half, Benfica played better, created goal chances but FC Porto was better in the decisions."
"I don't have the feeling that Benfica was less than FC Porto. I have the feeling that Benfica, during the match, was a few times less than FC Porto. I am sure that Benfica, during the second half and the first 25 minutes until the penalty, was always similar to FC Porto and there were some moments when it was superior. It wasn't so objective and it wasn't so effective."
"We were very confident for the game, but the difference was in the effectiveness. We lost the first final. This was a goal of the season, but what counts afterwards is what lies ahead to win."
