Joana Vasconcelos and Fernando Pimenta won the gold medal in K1 500 and K1 5000 meters, respectively, this Sunday in the Canoe World Cup that takes place in Hungary.

The Benfica canoeist, who had already won the bronze medal in the 200m women event on Saturday, won the K1 500m final with the time of 1:54.03, 4 hundredths of a second less than the Spanish Isabel Contreras.

After winning the gold in K1 1000m and silver in K1 500m on Saturday, the Benfica canoeist Fernando Pimenta achieved the first place of the podium in the 5000m event, racking up his hundredth international medal, and the seventh for Portugal in the Sprint World Cup, in Hungary.
