The Club, now in 24th place (with 197,6 million euros), and Ajax are the first on the list among the clubs that do not belong to the Old Continent Top 5 Leagues.
14 January 2020, 11h48
According to the annual survey, Benfica is the 24th European club with the highest revenues – 197,6 million euros –, in a season in which the team won the National League title and reached the quarter-finals of the Europa League.
The Portuguese champion went up six places, since in the 2019 edition it appeared in 30th place, with revenues of 150,7 million euros, in a table that does not include extraordinary revenues, as is the case, for example, of players' sales.
Real Madrid has dominated this list of European clubs with the highest revenues, but this year was overtaken by Spanish rival Barcelona. The Catalans reach the first place for the first time and are also the first club to exceed 800 million euros (ME) milestone in revenues. Real Madrid appears in second place (757,3 ME) and Manchester United rounds off the podium (711,5 ME).
