🎥 Bruno Lage: “Maximum caution on our part”

Weigl will be in Benfica's squad list for the home match against Aves, from matchday 16 of the Liga NOS, scheduled for Friday (7:00 pm), said Bruno Lage in the press conference.

What CD Aves is expected, being bottom of the league, but having recently won against SC Braga and having lost by one goal deficit against FC Porto and Sporting?

The managerial change is very recent, it is true they beat SC Braga and, in my opinion, they put in an even better performance away at Vitória de Setúbal, despite having lost. I believe it is a team that is evolving and there must be maximum caution on our part. First of all, because we want to put in a great performance, win the match and get the three points; secondly because we feel that on the other side is a determined team fighting for its life. They are in a situation in which they need to pick up points as quick as possible. As such, these kinds of situations are very dangerous.

Do you count on Weigl and Rafa?

Julian is in the squad list, Rafa  no.

Do you consider this Championship to be a two-horse race?

Last year, Benfica was out of the title race and did a perfect second half of the season, so it's too early to draw conclusions. My conclusions at the moment do not go beyond what my team's game style and the evolution I intend to do with my players. The other analyses we can do further on, it is now premature.
