Benfica had the best point tally after 14 rounds of the National Championship since the win is worth three points.

Benfica spent this Christmas with the best point tally after 14 rounds. The Reds bagged 39 points in 2019/20, the result of 13 wins, with a total of 37 goals scored and only five conceded.
The Eagles are at the top of the table, four points clear of FC Porto and 13 clear of Sporting.
Benfica also has the best attack, the best defense, the top scorers (Pizzi and Vinícius, both with 11 goals) and also two of the three players with the most assists delivered in the competition (Pizzi, with seven, and Grimaldo, with six).
So let's look at the last decade, where since 2009/10 Benfica has won six national titles.

The season of the Reconquest! Benfica finished 2018/19 with 87 points, 103 goals scored and 31 conceded (+72). FC Porto (85 points) and Sporting (74) were left behind.
A historic season with Benfica winning the unprecedented Fourth league title in a row. The Reds finished the league with 82 points, 72 goals scored and 18 conceded (+54), with FC Porto in 2nd place (76 points) and Sporting in 3rd (70).
The season of the third consecutive league title! The eagles celebrated the national title with 88 points amassed, 88 goals scored and 22 conceded (+66)… with Sporting in 2nd place (86 points) and FC Porto rounding off the podium (73 points).
Benfica became Two-time National Champion! The 34th title in the Club's history was won with 85 points, 86 goals scored and 16 conceded (+70), leaving FC Porto (82 points) and Sporting (76) behind.
After three seasons, the title returned Luz! Under Jorge Jesus, the eagles finished the competition with a total of 74 points, with 58 goals scored and 18 conceded (+40), leaving Sporting (67 points) and FC Porto (61 points) behind.
Five years later, the title was once again celebrated at Luz! Benfica became Champions with 76 points (five points clear of Braga, 2nd place), 78 goals scored and 20 conceded (+58). Óscar Cardozo, with 26 goals, was the competition top scorer.
