Tamagnini Nené is to be congratulated! The Benfica legend celebrates, this Wednesday, 70 years of age, more than 50 spent at his beloved Club.

Between 1968/69 and 1985/86, Nené gave countless brushstrokes full of talent on Portuguese and international pitches. In 18 seasons, the fast No. 7 amassed 575 matches and 371 goals. He is still the football with the most official matches for the Club and is only surpassed by Eusébio and José Águas in the top scorer list; he wore the captain's armband in 86 occasions and won 27 titles: 10 National Championships, 7 Portuguese Cups, 2 Super Cups and 8 Lisbon Cup of Honor.

Nené

Playing for the National Team, the former player racked up 66 caps and scored 22 goals.

He hung his boots at the end of the 1985/86 season, since then, he has remained within the Club's structure, mainly linked to academy football.

In 2018, at the Benfica Gala – Cosme Damião he won the Tribute Award.
