Benfica is a candidate to organize one of the group stages of the Elite Round of the 2019/20 UEFA Futsal Champions League, that takes place between November 19 and 24. The announcement was made by the team manager Gonçalo Alves.

“We are candidates to organize the Elite Round, at our home, close to our fans. We haven't organized since 2010, curiously we were European Champions that year. We already did what we had to do, now we must wait for UEFA's decision. we want to be the chosen ones and, if we are the chosen ones, I ask the supporters to fill up the pavilion in every match to show Benfica's strength”, he revealed in statements with the Official Website.

It should be remembered that the Reds secured the qualification for the Elite Round after beating Halle-Gooik, by 6-2, in Belgium, also securing the first place of Group 2.
