With the elimination of FC Porto in the 3rd qualifying round, Bruno Lage's team avoids, in theory, more complicated opponents in the group stage.

Liga dos Campeões
The elimination of FC Porto against Krasnodar (3-3 in aggregate, after a 2-3 win for the Russians at Dragão) puts the men under Bruno Lage in Pot 2.
Real Madrid, Atletico Madrid, Tottenham, Napoli, Borussia Dortmund, Shakhtar and Ajax are the teams that the Eagles won't have to face in the group stage of the Champions League.
Even as the National Champion, Benfica cannot be in Pot 1, because it is reserved for the winners of the six European championships with more points in the UEFA coefficient (Spain, England, Italy, Germany, France, and Russia) and the clubs who won the Champions League and the Europa League. Portugal sits seventh in this ranking.
