Rúben Dias: “We feel good and confident”

Rúben Dias, the Benfica center-back, was the special guest on the program "Titulares", from SportTV, where he talked about various topics, but also made the aftermath of the trashing of the eternal rivals (5-0), which resulted in the conquest of the 8^th Super Cup for the Benfica Museum -Cosme Damião. 

Super Cup Aftermath

"I don't think you can ever anticipate a result like this because it's a derby, a Super Cup and it's always a very competitive game, very well-balanced and, theoretically, even if there's some superiority from one of the teams, in these games that always disappears, so it wouldn't cross my mind to achieve such a good result. Of course we wanted a good result, but I didn't expect it to be like this."

Sheriff of the red defense

"I'm another player who is available to help. That's up to whoever wants to judge, whoever wants to have their opinion, but deep down I'm just another one who's there to help."

Confidence: the key word

"It's just a matter of confidence and at these moments the whole play has to be built, but if there's no one to finish them afterward, nothing will come out of it. The team's ease playing is evident, we fell good, confident and then in these moments, you can see that."

Bruno Lage's message

"There's the message and it's up to us players to make it easy or not, that depends on what our performance is. It's on the pitch that what an intelligent player can perform or not is reflected, and Bruno Lage's message is objective and simple to understand."

The most difficult striker to face

" It depends a lot on what the player can do with his specific characteristics, but I highlight Lewandowski, with whom I played twice in different contexts [club and national team]. It's fair to highlight him because he is a top-quality player."

Preseason filled with victories

"People started to feel confident during the International Champions Cup, but that's relative, the preseason is to test things, to fail, but of course it's good to win, is a demonstration of quality, but it's always different after we get to the official context and get to this result."

The academy products winning space at Benfica

"First of all it is important to point out that there is nothing guaranteed, there is nothing assumed that they will arrive and will play. There must always be quality, difficulty and they must be managed to overcome the difficulty to be able to establish themselves itself. It's a club bet and it's been paying off."

Is Benfica the big favorite to be champion?

"It's one of the big favorite, not because it won the title but because it's Benfica. It's our ambition, the ambition of the club and all the fans, but that's something natural. We became Champions last year,but that's not why we are more favorites. We are Benfica."

João Félix's departure

"I think both time and age sometimes become relative. Sometimes they are necessary, but sometimes they become relative when it is so obvious. I hope he's very happy, but the quality was there, something that everyone acknowledged, and it's very difficult to find a player that can score goals so easily."
