The nominees for the Quinas de Ouro 2019 awards were announced this Monday. Among them are 16 candidates from Sport Lisboa e Benfica, in several categories. Vote here.

The Quinas de Ouro 2019 Gala, that will be held on September 2, at the Carlos Lopes Pavilion, will distinguish 15 categories, in a total of 75 nominations total, distributed between beach soccer, football and futsal, attributed by the Quinas de Ouro Council.

This event, jointly organised by the Portuguese Football Federation, the National Association of Football Coaches and the Professional Football Players' Union, has as its main goal to recognize the work of the Portuguese with the best performance in football, futsal and beach soccer in calendar year 2018.

Benfica-Tirsense: extended match highlights (4-0)

In front of almost 50,000 spectators at the Estádio da Luz, Benfica confirmed their qualification for the 2024/2025 Portuguese Cup final on Wednesday night, April 23, by beating Tirsense 4-0 in the second leg of the semi-final (goals from António Silva, Bajrami, Belotti and Barreiro). In the first game, the Eagles had won 0-5. Thus, with a 9-0 aggregate in the semi-final, the Glorioso reached the decisive match of the Portuguese Cup for the 39th time. On their way to Jamor, the Reds overcame Pevidém (0-2), Estrela da Amadora (7-0), Farense (1-3), SC Braga (1-0) and, finally, Tirsense in a two-legged tie.

A moving tribute to Humberto Coelho

Having celebrated his 75th birthday on Sunday, April 20, Humberto Coelho received a heartfelt and well-deserved tribute on Wednesday, April 23, at the Estádio da Luz, during half-time of the Benfica-Tirsense (4-0) second leg of the Portuguese Cup semi-finals. Captain for many years, he wore the Manto Sagrado for “14 fantastic seasons” and, on the pitch, he gave a special thanks to the fans. "This is more than soul, it's an extraordinary mystique! Only at Benfica can you feel this recognition and this glory and memory of having played for the best club in the world," said the former central defender.
