Women's football
A 32-year-old Brazilian international joins the women's football team of Benfica and arrives full of ambition.
13 December 2018, 11h36
An international for Brazil national team, she represented several emblems in her home country and she also had spells in Sweden (Tyresö), Iceland (Grindavik) and Spain (Atlético Madrid) and she has now joined the Eagles.
“The reasons for this change are greatness and the project, which is attractive. Benfica has a very big project and I hope that the stages may be completed in the best possible way, which are: clinch promotion to the 1st Division, win the Portuguese Cup, become National Champion and qualify for the Champions League. We have a squad with a lot of quality and we have everything to be successful”, she claimed in a statement to BTV.
The senior women's football team is a recent project, but it already shares Benfica's winning DNA.
“Titles, titles, and more titles! This is Benfica's objective. We cannot settle for anything less. All athletes that arrived at this Club know that the must fight for titles, they acknowledge the greatness and the responsibility is huge. We are committed”, she assured.
At the Catedhral, the winger was able to fulfill one of her dreams: to take a picture alongside the eagle, the living symbol of Benfica.
“The eagle is very beautiful. When they contacted me I even said that I wanted to take a picture with the eagle, which is a symbol. It is the history at Benfica and it is a strong brand that few clubs have. I hope to play at the Stadium one day and see it fly for the fans”, she revealed.
