Bruno Coelho is in the run-up for the World's Best Player. The Benfica's winger is in the list of candidates for the award assigned by Futsal Planet.

The Benfica’s captain, with two goals, and Ricardinho – the other Portuguese among the 10 candidates – with one, were crucial in the first European Title won by Portugal, after a 3-2 victory over Spain, in February.

The Brazilians Danilo Baron, Douglas Júnior, Fabrício Gadeia, Leandro Lino, the Spanish Adrián Pola, the Argentinian Damián Stazzone and the Iranians Farhad Tavakoli and Hossein Tayebi are also in the race for the award. The ceremony will take place on December 31st.

In women's futsal, Ana Catarina Pereira and Fifó are also competing for the award.

This Sunday, May 4, Benfica Campus' Field No. 1 was the stage for celebrating the 26th national Under-19 title. Needing just one point to celebrate, Benfica's U19 team became champions after a 2-2 draw against FC Porto in round 13 of the championship round, and lifted the trophy on the pitch, celebrating afterward with the fans who were tireless in their support for Luís Araújo's team.
