Women's football
Benfica's women's football team captain extended her contract with the Club for two more seasons.
25 June 2019, 14h00
“I'm very happy to have renewed my contract with a club as big and wonderful as Benfica to be able to continue helping in the coming seasons. I had a very good season in my first year here in the pioneering project and I hope that the years ahead may be even better, for me, for the team and for Benfica”, claimed the player, in statements with BTV.
The vice-president Fernando Tavares stressed the importance of this contract renewal for the future of the team.
“To lose Darlene it would mean going backward, not forwards. We must do everything we can to retain our most important players and strengthen the team always with a view to achieving domestic goals and promoting Benfica”, stressed the vice-president.
