Francisco Saldanha, a 18-year-old defender/midfielder (19.03.2001), renewed his contract with Sport Lisboa e Benfica.

He arrived at the Club in 2015/16 coming from Vitória de Guimarães and this is his fourth season representing.

In the current season, Francisco Saldanha has been predominantly playing for the U-19s, but he has also played in some games from the U-23s. So far, he has 32 appearances (26 in the U-19 National Championship, 1 in the Youth League and 5 in the Liga Revelação) and 4 goals for Benfica (all in the U-19 squad).

With a career in the Portuguese youth national teams, Francisco Saldanha has 38 caps (2619 minutes played) and two goals. He participated in the 2018 U-17 European Championship in England.
