Super-Pizzi: Europe's most influential midfielder

He scores, he provides assists, and, in Benfica's midfield, he exceeds some of the best records in 2018/19. Two goals and one assist in the match against SC Braga (1-4) turn Pizzi into the most influential player of the Liga NOS. He is also the midfielder that had a direct hand in more goals in Europe's Top 15 leagues.

Against Braga, Pizzi was the man of the match, with the platform Sofascore giving him a score of 8,9.

This is being a dream season for the number 21. The 12 goals and the 18 assists mean that is he has had a direct hand in 30 of the 91 goals of the eagles in the National Championship (33%). 

But there is more: Pizzi has just broken his record of goals scored in all competition in one season!

The 14 already amassed leave behind the 13 scored in 2016/17.

It is not just in the domestic competitions that Pizzi left his seal of quality in Benfica's offensive game. The midfielder took part in five goals (two goals and three assists) in the European competitions – Champions League and Europa League. 

Unrivaled in Europe

The Official Site researched among UEFA's Top 15 leagues and came to the conclusion that Pizzi is the most influential midfielder in Europe, with a direct hand in 30 goals.

We have to go to the Dutch league to find a player that comes close to his record. The Moroccan Ziyech had influence in 29 strikes from Ajax (17 goals and 12 assists).
