Benfica and Liga Desportiva de Maputo sign a partnership

With the presence of the Chairman Luís Filipe Vieira, Sport Lisboa e Benfica signed a cooperation agreement with the club Liga Desportiva de Maputo, with the duration of two seasons.

The event was also attended by Rafik Sidat and Zuneid Sidat, the president and the head of the football area at the Mozambican club, respectively, and Diamantino Miranda, a former red player.

With this protocol, it is intended to identify football players with greater potential to grow under the watchful eye of both clubs; to contribute for the development of the skills of young Mozambicans through the supervision of Liga Desportiva de Maputo's youth training system; to enhance the partnership from a commercial point of view, achieving a greater expansion of the Benfica brand in Mozambique.

“I am very pleased. I want to thank Sport Lisboa e Benfica, in the person of Luís Filipe Vieira, for having accepted our small club to have a cooperation with a centennial Club and that it is one of the most popular clubs in the world”, claimed Rafik Sidat, the President of Liga Desportiva de Maputo, to BTV.

Diamantino Miranda will be the head coach of the Mozambicans, accompanied by an assistant coach who will accumulate the role of coordinator of the academy football from Liga Desportiva de Maputo.
